Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) are the building blocks of software development. In the context of the Web, they allow businesses to extend capabilities (Web services) for apps to use.
API documentation is in great demand. If you’re not familiar with this field, you won’t want to miss Gen Whitt’s presentation. Gen will give an overview of what APIs are, how they are impacting the business world, and what an API writer needs to know. She’ll also provide us with some recommended resources for developing your skills as an API writer.
Don’t know our speaker? Gen Whitt has been writing a wide range of technical documents for 25 years. Past and present employers include Yahoo! Inc., Rovi, Inc., and SOA Software, Inc. In recent times her focus has been on writing API documentation and other material for a highly technical audience.
Originally from England, Gen Whitt now lives in Florida. Gen has been a member of STC for 17 years.
